She's not in Kansas anymore! As part of her summer vacation from Glee, Lea Michele (Rachel) will play the voice of Dorothy in Dorothy of Oz, a 3D animated adaption of the classic Wizard of Oz story.
Based on the writings of children's author Roger S. Baum (great-grandson of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum), the film will center around Dorothy returning to tornado-ravaged Kanas and then heading back to Oz. There will also be much singing and dancing, with songs and lyrics written by Bryan Adams. Completing the cast is Dan Aykroyd as the Scarecrow, Kelsey Grammer as the Tin Man, and James Belushi as the Cowardly Lion. It will also star the voices of Martin Short, Patrick Stewart & Oliver Platt.
We can only assume that Lea's animated avatar will look adorable! And I'm sure we're not the only ones who think this is absolutely the perfect part for her. Expect to catch Lea on the big screen sometime in 2012. We can't wait!
