If It's a Dream...Don't Wake Colfer

From Cherie Burbach at www.wetpaint.com/glee:

They were grandmother and granddaughter in The Princess Diaries films, and now Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway may reunite on Glee. If all goes as planned, Andrews would play Kurt's grandmother, and Hathaway would be his aunt.

Chris Colfer has been pushing for this dream team for months now. He recently dished to E!'s Kristin Dos Santos, "I'm pretty sure I've been obnoxious enough now that [Julie Andrews] knows that I want her. I think they just have to write it for her … And Anne Hathaway wants to play my lesbian aunt. I'm all for that. Could you imagine a family with myself, Mike O'Malley, Julie Andrews, and Anne Hathaway? That's one hell of a family."

If Glee does score the dynamic duo, it'll be quite the coup; Hathaway is a busy girl these days — The Love and Other Drugs star is slated to co-host the 2011 Oscars!

Epic Superbowl Trantrum!! *Spoiler*

From Heidi Suke at www.wetpaint.com/glee:

Sure, we have [a few] ideas on how to pass the time until the new episode of Glee FINALLY airs, but it’s always nice to get an extra dose of gossip in these terrible Glee-barren months. Are you ready for more Super Bowl scoop, Gleeks? Well, you’re in luck!

Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) recently caught up with Associated Press and dished on her role in the Super Bowl extravaganza: “It's got so much firepower. There is so much going on in the show that is crazy and funny and wild. I have a hissy fit the likes of which no one has seen before, where I try to destroy the locker room and principal's office. I try to shoot one of my cheerleaders from a cannon."

Shooting a Cheerio from a cannon? Rumor has it that Brittany is going to be the one Sue lures into, and shoots out of, said cannon. Okay. This is going to be good!

Superbowl Spoilers!!!

From Christopher Rosen at www.wetpaint.com/glee:

OMGlee. After months of speculation, we finally have confirmation on the songs Glee will perform during the Super Bowl episode, which airs February 6, 2011. As a bonus, we've included several delectable deets on the episode itself. Spoilerphobes, avoid the rest of this post at all costs!

SPOTTED: The cast of Glee filming scenes on a football field on Thursday, December 9. But wait — is that Lea Michele in uniform? While Chris Colfer and Darren Criss cheered on the team from the stands, Chord Overstreet and Cory Monteith were joined on the field by the pint-sized star herself. After Finn's rejection of her on "A Very Glee Christmas," could this be Rachel's attempt to finally get him back for good?

For spoiler-lovers, here you go!

Katy Perry - "California Gurls," performed by Brittany, Santana, Quinn, and the Cheerios
Lady Antebellum - "Need You Now," performed by Puck and Rachel
Michael Jackson/Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Thriller"/"Heads Will Roll" (mashup), performed by New Directions (minus Quinn, Birttany, and Santana, who are away at a Cheerios competition) during halftime in a McKinley High football game
Destiny's Child - "Bills, Bills, Bills," performed by Blaine, Kurt, and the Dalton Academy Warblers
Another song that might make it into the eppy is "Meet Me Halfway" by The Black Eyed Peas

As if that wasn't enough, here's a roundup of more episode-related teasers:

- The episode will feature two new football player characters, Scott Cooper and Strando (played by Kody Batchelor), as well as a cameo by Katie Couric, who interviews Sue Sylvester for the "Biggest Loser of the Year" award. (Sue assumes she's received "Most Fascinating Person of the Year" honors, but that accolade goes to Barbara Walters instead.)
- Sue will attempt to lure Brittany into a cannon.
- Finn and Rachel do not reunite... at least not in this episode.
- McKinley High comes down with a serious case of Super Bowl fever due to the Cheerleading Regionals.
- Kurt and Karofsky will have another showdown.
- Coach Beiste recruits Rachel, Tina, and Mercedes for the football team, and she also forces the team to join glee.

Some GLEE Superbowl Deets

From Christopher Rosen at www.wetpaint.com/glee:

We won't have a new episode of Glee to pore over until February, but when our favorite show returns it will be with its biggest episode yet: The Super Bowl one!

"It's a football-themed show," explained Brad Ellis, a musical director on Glee (you know, the bearded guy with the glasses who plays piano and doesn't say anything?), in USA Today. "It's 500 extras," with cameos by "the USC marching band — the Trojan marching band. It's an enormous undertaking."

What else can Brad spill? For one, the Thriller mash-up is going to be huge. "Lots of dancers doing something very fun to watch them do, doing something really specific," he dished. "People that you don't expect to dance will dance."

And while production slowed due to a few Glee cast members coming down with winter bugs, that wasn't the only reason for the delay. "We also had fog roll in the day before just as we were about to begin filming." Doh! Despite these minor (albeit expensive) setbacks, we can expect the show to be epic.

Berry Dishes!

From Kristin Dos Santos at www.eonline.com:

Oh what Glee this Globes day brings!

The show's five nominations are just what Lea Michele needed to bounce out of her funk over her recent TV breakup. "I'm devastated!" she tells me of Finn and Rachel.

I just hit the set to chat up Lea and fellow nominees Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer and Matthew Morrison (check back soon for scoop from the rest!), and here's what Lea wants you fans to know about what's ahead for Finchel, Puckleberry—did someone say duet?!—Britana and why you Finn and Rachel fans have to watch the Super Bowl episode…

"I'm so upset about it!" Lea told me of the Finchel split. "The tweets that I get about this are so intense. They're like, 'You have ruined the show for me! I am sitting here crying right now.'"

Many of you fans have asked if the show's producers are aware how intensely you feel about the Finchel split and Lea lays it out for you: "I show[ed] the tweets to Ryan Murphy and [I was] like, 'Look what you've done!' And he loved it! He was like 'Really?! Oh my God.' I'm so sad, I love working with Cory [Monteith]."

But step away from that ledge; there is hope for you Finchel fanatics. "They're not keeping us apart," Lea insists. "I still have some really awesome scenes with [Corey], both in the Super Bowl episode and in the Valentine's Day episode …Of course, now that [Rachel] knows what they have she's not going to let it go so easy. But some stuff goes down—oh boy, does some stuff go down. It goes down! So wait until you see that, it's the last scene in the Super Bowl episode."

And though some of us do love the naughty notion of fame-whore Rachel Berry with man-whore Puck, Lea has to laugh. "Puckleberry is bad news! I don't know if we'll ever have a serious relationship. But I love working with Mark [Salling] and we have a great duet in the Super Bowl episode. They throw that in, but I don't know if there's anything real there."

As for the fans clamoring for a Brittany and Santana relationship, Lea hints that she doesn't know of anything in the works at the moment, and admits: "I love Artie and Brittany. And oh my God, he sings a song to her in the Valentine's Day episode that is adorable so I'm really loving them right now. With Brittana, I think it's the same thing as Puckleberry: It's sort of bad news, when they're together they're up to no good."

Agron Takes Control

From Leslie Pandey of www.wetpaint.com/glee:

Whoa! According to multiple sources, Dianna Agron (Quinn) fired her agent and manager in an effort to take back the direction of her career.

Page Six reports that the Glee star made the split in November. "She is delighted with the success of Glee and her role. But she parted ways with them around a month ago. Dianna has been working as an actress since she was a child, she is smart and has a strong grasp on where her career is going." Apparently her agent and manager didn't have that same grasp.

No word yet on what this means for Dianna's future Glee negotiations or other projects, but it's nice to know that a talented young star has enough confidence in her abilities to do what she thinks is right.

Was That Really Jesse We Saw?

OK any Groffsessed GLEEks out there...

While watching New Directions perform at sectionals during Special Education, did anyone else catch this glimpse of a possible Jesse sighting?

Although I believe it may be made to look like he was there, it's almost a bigfoot-type sighting still, but Jonathon Groff is in London right now, but wonder if this was a well-placed decoy to let us know he's coming back...

Thoughts?

Grammy GLEE

From Leslie Pandey at www.wetpaint.com/glee

Get excited, Gleeks! The Glee cast has scored not one but two nominations for the 2011 Grammy Awards! The noms were announced tonight at a performance show hosted by teen queen Selena Gomez and musical legend Stevie Wonder.

So what’s Glee up for? The cast’s now classic “Don’t Stop Believin’” track has been tapped for Best Performance By a Duo or Group. No brainer, right? Our only question: Why did Glee only get one nom in this category? We can think of many, many other songs that could have also made the cut. (“Defying Gravity” was robbed!)

Glee’s second nomination comes in the Compilation Soundtrack category for the first volume of the Glee Soundtrack. (Guess the other volumes are feeling jealous right about now!)

Congrats to the Glee cast! Here’s a look at the competition in these categories:

Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals

“Don’t Stop Believin’” — Glee Cast
“Misery” — Maroon 5
“The Only Exception” — Paramore
“Babyfather” — Sade
“Hey, Soul Sister” — Train

Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media

Crazy Heart — Various Artists
Glee: The Music, Volume 1 — Glee Cast
Tremé — Various Artists
