Remember when we said Glee won’t be doing any big name tribute for their post-Super Bowl episode? Well, that’s not entirely true. It turns out they’re going to be performing one of the greatest songs of all time! Are you ready? Are you sure? We’ll give you a hint: It’s not “Don’t Stop Believing.”
According to EW, New Directions will be tackling none other than Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” — but with a twist. Glee will add their signature mashup flair to the King of Pop’s famous tune with another as yet to be determined song. According to sources, the post-Super Bowl ep is set to be the most expensive in Glee history, and will also include music by Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, and Katy Perry. But that’s not all!
EW continues:
“The post-Super Bowl episode will instead keep with the evening’s sports theme and focus on the local football championship and Sue Sylvester’s cheerleading regionals (the “Thriller” mash-up will be played during halftime of the onscreen pigskin game). Basically, it will be a classic episode of Glee, but just bigger and better; Gleeks can also expect appearances from season two fan favorites: Blaine (Darren Criss) and Coach Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones). Oh, and General Motors is co-sponsoring the episode, which likely means there will be limited commercial interruptions.”
So....whaddya say Gleeks? BOO-YAH!
