A Season for Quinn

Part of Tanya's article on spoilersguide.com:

TV Guide has a little Quinn scoop for us, which I personally always love to hear:

Who will Quinn hook up with on Glee this season? — Oleg
MICKEY: Dianna Agron will have quite a full dance card this season. There’s sure to be the inevitable push-pull between Finn and Puck, but more surprising will be her role in Kurt’s new romance. Cheerleaders love football players, right?

Kurt and those cheerleaders of his. He just can’t keep them away. What kind of role do you guys think Quinn will be playing in his new season 2 romance?

Superbowl Tribute Episode...and Beyond

He GLEEks!

It has been rumored that Ryan Murphy REALLY wants a Billy Joel tribute episode for it's showing right after the Superbowl. Even though Mr. Joel's name hasn't come up for a while, and things have gone super hush-hush about the male tribute episode (which will air right after the Superbowl), his name hasn't been denied either. I wonder if Ryan just forgot he said anything out loud...
And Sir Paul McCartney is trying to get onto GLEE (who doesn't wanna be on there except Miley Cyrus)and desperately wants the Superbowl episode. Hmmm...he already had the Superbowl! Is he trying to stay tied to it? Weird! I also think that it might be strange for him to appear...what would he do?

Well, my Glitter friend (uh...that's GLEE + Twitter to get a Rachael word via @Lea_MichelFAN) @ItsAGleekThing pointed out that a Michael Jackson tribute would be awesome! Why wouldn't it? So right now we have begun a campaign, via Twitter, to start it trending...and then a Facebook campaign my follow shortly after. Katy Perry is trying to use Facebook to get onto GLEE! (See? Who doesn't wanna be on GLEE...except Miley Cyrus...we KNOW!) It worked to Betty White on SNL!

How can Ryan Murphy say no to that? Or Sony for that matter?

Even though Mr. Murphy may be sticking with negotiations with whoever the male tribute episode will be about (*cough* Billy Joel), we would love to see Michael Jackson happen! If not this season...it's gotta happen in Season 3! Right?

Won't you join our cause? If you're a Glitter user, please GLEEt (GLEE + Tweet via @musicallylizzie) the following to help get it trending:

#MJonGLEE

Thanks!!

Facebook campaign will be announced when it's ready! Get Ready to Moonwalk GLEEks!

Slushie Cakes...Well...Kinda

Ok GLEEks...my Twitter background always has me craving cupcakes AND slushies because it is a pic of cupcakes that look like slushies! So, I wanted to try to make them! I made cupcakes today in a first attempt:

I feel pretty good about this attempt & know where to go from here! Can you say "Gourmet Slushie Cakes"? I knew you could! And they will be coming in the future...

Sue Rendered Speechless

Straight from Iqbal Theba's (aka - Principal Figgins) tweet:

@iqbaltheba Jane Lynch had laryngitis and couldn't come to work. So, we wernt able to shoot our scenes. I'm going to the beach...

Yikes! She's been a busy gal! Praying she gets better soon!

Theory on Who WON'T Make GLEE

OK GLEEks...stick with me on this...

It was reported that Artie & Puck are reauditioning for the Glee Club, but one won't make it! That's already heartbreaking! But in putting puzzle pieces together, here's who I think will be the one to NOT make it...

Take a deep breath & brace yourselves...

Artie.

Ugh! That breaks my heart just putting that, but here's a couple of reasons I think it:

1. Artie & Tina will be seperating as Tina falls for Mike. A big reason would be if Artie is not around Tina while she's in Glee with Mike.

2. Javier Bardem will be guest starring as a Spanish rock star that befriends Artie. Maybe he needs a confidence booster since he isn't in the club AND lost his girlfriend!

Please know that this isn't what I want...I totally LOVE Artie! Just thinking it through, the writing's on the wall.

What are your thoughts? Do you think I'm right?

Reaudition - Who's In & Who's Out + Season 3

From jysk.com's Lauren Metz:

Fox is officially head-over-heels for Glee. The network picked up the show's third season -- before the second one even started filming!

Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly says, "Everything about Glee -- from the concept to the characters to the marketing -- has been innovative and risky...Glee has one of the most active, devoted fan bases I've ever seen, and we couldn't be more thrilled to give Gleeks a third season of their favorite show."

Ryan Murphy, the show's co-creator, echoes that sentiment. "It's been a whirlwind year - --from shooting the pilot to performing at the White House ...-- and yet we all feel like we've just begun this amazing musical journey. We think our Gleeks worldwide are going to love what we'll have in store for them in seasons two and three."

Ryan also leaked to other Ryan -- you know, Seacrest -- part of next season's plot.

Mark Salling (Puck) and Kevin McHale (Artie) were guests on Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show when they learned that their characters will need to audition again to be in next year's glee club. And only one of them will make it.

Dun dun dun.

Kevin joked, "I have to make it! I'm not going to sleep now." And Mark, who found work playing the guitar on Craigslist before his big Glee break, teased, "I may have to go back to Craigslist."

Christmas in July = PRESENTS

From Eonline.com's Krisin Dos Santos:

Glee is back, baby! OK, not on your television set just yet, but the stars are finally back on set as of today.

So what, and more importantly who, can we expect to see this season? The cast and producers hit up the TV Academy to celebrate their 19 nominations, and when Matthew Morrison wasn't assaulting me (see Part 1!), boss Ryan Murphy was spilling scoop on the status of Jonathan Groff, Javier Bardem, Neil Patrick Harris, Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel and….wait a minute…Paul McCartney?!

This is high school, so let's do a little roll call on season two, shall we? Starting off with the most exciting:

Patrick Ecclesine/FOX Jonathan Groff: Present! "Jonathan is doing a play in London till January," boss Ryan Murphy explains. "But yeah, as it moves toward the big competition, I think he has to come back and give Rachel a pep talk, don't you? So yes, he will be back." Allow me to repeat those words to you: Yes, Jonathan Groff will be back on Glee. I'll pause while you spazz out with jazz hands, back flips and/or raucous applause...your choice.

John Stamos: Present! Jayma Mays is just a smidge excited for her "first date" with her new love interest as you can see in the exclusive video above! Says Ryan, "A lot of people don't realize, but you know, in the tradition of Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth and Jonathan Groff, he has had really great experience on Broadway, and we're excited about him and think he is perfect for this role."

Neil Patrick Harris: (Fingers Crossed) Present! They're working on it. "We would love to have Neil back," Ryan says. "We have a little problem that he's a regular on another show. But he's in the Fox family and they help us out a great deal with that. I think we've just begun to see the tip of the villainry for Brian Ryan."

When I suggested Teri Schuester (Jessalyn Gilsig) hook up with NPH's Brian Ryan (who, remember, had a crush on her in high school), Ryan said: "I think that's a great idea actually. We had Jessalyn ear-marked for another person but…" To which Jessalyn interjected: "Who? Javier Bardem? Yo hablo Espanol." ¡Yo LOL!

Javier Bardem: ¡Presente! "It was a very sweet thing," Ryan says about meeting Javier. "I'm doing a movie, Eat Prey Love, and Javier Bardem is in it with Julia Roberts. I hadn't met him, and so I went up to him and I said, 'Buddy, congratulations on your Best Actor nomination at Cannes.' And he said, "I do not want to talk about that I want to talk about Glee.' He rented the whole first season and watched them and said it was like crack to him. And he loved what it was about and he asked if I would write him a role. He said, "I want to be a Spanish rock 'n' roll star." And so I'm going to see him this week and we'll see how he's going to fit in. It will definitely be in the second half of the season."

Wicked Awesome Stars: Present! Says Ryan: We're going to have Kristin Chenoweth back. Idina Menzel back. People that we love we love and we just keep bringing them back.

Paul McCartney: Would Like to Be Present! When asked about the actors and musicians who are now asking to be a part of Glee, Ryan revealed that Paul McCartney is one of them. "The other day a package arrived at my office and I opened it up and it said 'Mixtape From Paul McCartney.' It was very sweet...It was a CD, I apologize. It was these amazing songs that I grew up with. And I said, "Is this a joke?" It literally said "Greeting, from Paul." This is a strange, strange world we live in, and it's awesome."

Mike Chang, Brittany and Santana: More Present! You'll see more of all three of these character this season, complete with Santana-Brittany liplock and Mike-Tina pairing. "We just happened upon three really brilliant people," executive producer Ian Brennan explains. "We're just like holy s--t. And then to be able to find room for these people and to be able to investigate them is such a joy. I can't wait for those episodes."

All Your Old Faves: Present! This quote might excite you fans the most, cause Ryan is making sure we know that they are not turning Glee into a guest-star-of-the-week or theme-of-the-week show. "I think because of the back half of the first season, people thought that season two would be bigger and brighter and more numbers," Ryan tells me, "but actually we are doing a different approach. When we did the tour, we saw how people just went nuts when these kids came out and we really feel a responsibility to write to the characters we have and break them out and give them more moments to shine." Say it with me now: Holllleeer.

Yet Another New Coach

From EW.com's Michael Ausiello:

30 Rock’s Cheyenne Jackson is joining the cast of Glee in a major recurring role, sources confirm to me exclusively. What role would that be? Keep reading for the scoop!

Jackson—who was a hoot and a half in Broadway’s Xanadu—will succeed Idina Menzel as the coach of Vocal Adrenaline.

Jackson has been on a bit of a roll as of late. In addition to 30 Rock, he also landed a guest stint on the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. And now he’s on the hottest TV show on the planet.

Conflicting Spoilers

OK GLEEks...I'm trying to look into these...

There are a couple of spoilers out there that have conflicting information:

1. Chord Overstreet - Yes, he will be on the new season of GLEE as a football player that Finn takes under his wing only to find out that Chord's character, Sam, is actually competion for Finn in Glee Club! This has also been rumored as the upcoming love interest for Kurt. There are now conflicting reports out saying that Sam will NOT be that character & that Kurt's love interest may not happen or might happen at the end of the season. Trying to sort all of this out.

2. Katie Holmes - Will she be on or won't she? It was rumored earlier this month that she would appear in a 5-episode guest spot, but then SHE quickly debunked that saying that she is taking dance lessons with Tyce DiOrio & can sing a bit...so enough to get by. Probably not quite what GLEE is going for. Her connection with GLEE appears to be with Dianna Agron. They will be appearing in an upcoming movie together, "The Romantics". That seems to be it...for now... There are still reports floating around about her 5-episode run...

I am wondering if these conflicting reports are a strategy to keep us watching. Much like the fact that Matthew Morrison, Jayma Mays, Cory Montieth, Mark Salling, Lea Michele, Dianna Agron & Jane Lynch were absent from the Comic-Con GLEE panel so that their storylines couldn't be discussed...but that's just my conspiracy theory!

If I find out more...you will hear about it here!

What's With All the Drama?

From Catriona Wightman on digitalspy.com:

Kevin McHale has joked that he wants more light-hearted drama in his romance on Glee.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, McHale admitted that he thinks Artie and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) are soulmates.

"They're so different," Ushkowitz said. "And they're so unexpected."

McHale added: "Artie and Tina are just super serious. Like, all their drama is legit drama. I want, 'You didn't look at me today!' I want that kind of drama. Like, 'I want the solo, no I want it'. We have, like, 'I can't walk' or, 'You're faking a stutter'."

Meanwhile, Chris Colfer revealed that it may be some time before his character Kurt gets a boyfriend.

"I have heard that they might be leaning towards another storyline more which would delay that," he said. "I've heard that it might be provocative... I don't know, all I heard is that it might be delayed a bit."

Colfer also joked that he would love Meryl Streep to play Kurt's boyfriend, joking: "She can do anything."

Glee returns for a new season on September 21 on Fox.

Coach Flees GLEE

According to seattlepi.com:

Glee is parting ways with actor Patrick Gallagher, who is not expected to reprise his role as football coach Ken Tanaka in the smash series' sophomore season. Earlier, I announced that the Fox musical comedy would be introducing actress Dot Jones as William McKinley High's new football coach, Shannon Beiste. Now I can tell you that she will not be assisting Coach Tanaka, but replacing him. As he has not been written into the show's first few episodes, it appears that Tanaka ran his course after failing in his attempt to marry Emma. Will you miss this character or are you excited to meet a potential new estrogen-charged rival for Sue Sylvester?

Katy Perry Hosts TCA's With GLEE!

From Mikey O'Connell at zap2it.com:

Sorry, girls. You're going to have to sit this one out.

The (young) men of "Glee" just nabbed co-hosting duties at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards, alongside previously announced Katy Perry.

Us Magazine reports Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Cory Monteith and Mark Salling will help emcee the August 9 event.

The boys might also represent in the winners' circle as well. "Glee" has five Teen Choice nominations, including "Choice TV Show: Comedy" and "Choice Music: Group." Cory Monteith is even up for "Choice TV Actor."

Other big names already locked for the kid-friendly event include Sandra Bullock, Leighton Meester and "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene.

New Directions New Guy

Press Release from Fox:

Newcomer to Guest-Star in Second Season of GLEE

Series Returns with All-New Episodes Tuesday, Sept. 21, on FOX

Newcomer Chord Overstreet (iCarly) joins the ranks at McKinley as a high school athlete who starts off as Finn's protg but becomes his competition. Overstreet has been cast in the recurring role of SAM, and will make his debut in the season premiere episode of GLEE airing Tuesday, Sept. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

As previously announced, other notable guest stars in the sophomore season include singing sensation Charice, who comes to McKinley as an exchange student and becomes a formidable rival to one of the glee club's stars; and heartthrob John Stamos, who plays a dentist and potential love interest for EMMA PILLSBURY (Jayma Mays).

Entering its second season, GLEE is a biting musical comedy that has quickly become a pop-culture phenomenon. The highest-rated new scripted series of the season boasts critical acclaim, a loyal fan base of GLEEks, two certified Gold albums, more than 10 million song downloads and an incredible 19 Emmy nominations earning it the distinction of being the most-nominated series of the year. To top it off, the genre-defying, award-winning series has been picked up through its third season.

GLEE follows a group of eager and ambitious students as they strive to outshine their singing competition to win Nationals while navigating the cruel halls of McKinley High. Although New Directions lost at Regionals, they now have their sights set on making it to Nationals and defeating their arch rivals, Vocal Adrenaline.

The glee club's fearless leader is WILL SCHUESTER (Matthew Morrison), a talented young teacher with hip-hop skills and a heart of gold. New Directions' aspiring stars include RACHEL (Lea Michele), a pitch-perfect singer with an unfaltering determination to be popular; FINN (Cory Monteith), the heartbreakingly cool quarterback who struggles with his personal life; KURT (Chris Colfer), the baby-faced soprano with a fierce eye for fashion; MERCEDES (Amber Riley), a powerhouse vocalist whose diva attitude rivals the greats; ARTIE (Kevin McHale), a physically disabled performer with sweet vocals and a dream to dance; and TINA (Jenna Ushkowitz), a goth chick with a soft side. There's also arrogant and cocky crooner PUCK (Mark Salling); ice-cold queen-bee-turned-teen-mom QUINN (Dianna Agron); and the dynamic dimwitted cheerleading duo of BRITTANY (Heather Morris) and SANTANA (Naya Rivera). With his heart in the right place, Will is determined to help the kids take Nationals, but at every turn he must battle with his nemesis, SUE SYLVESTER (Jane Lynch), the conniving cheerleading coach; and his evil ex-wife, TERRI (Jessalyn Gilsig). Mr. Schuester's only allies at McKinley are OCD-afflicted guidance counselor EMMA PILLSBURY (Mays) and supportive parents like Kurt's dad, BURT HUMMEL (Mike O'Malley).

GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are co-creators of the series. Murphy, Falchuk, Dante Di Loreto and Ian Brennan serve as executive producers.

And More From Comic-Con...

From Jenna Mullins at Eonline.com:

Ready to get your Glee on? We just got to chat with Ryan Murphy and his always fab Glee cast, and of course hit up the panel session here at Comic-Con to soak up as much Glee scoop as humanly possible. Here's what you fans absolutely must know...

Unfortunately, Matthew Morrison, Jayma Mayes, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron were not at Comic-Con, so there was no talk about those particular love triangles. We know, we can hear your cries of frustration from San Diego. Lucky us, tons of other cast members were there, and we have plenty of other Glee goodies for your perusal! Here are your highlights:

New love triangle! Ryan reveals that Tina will fall out of love with Artie and start falling in love with Mike Chang. Commence gasps of shock and betrayal.

Britney! The Britney Spears episode, called "Britney/Brittany" will be airing in September and will consists of six songs. "We're doing it in a very funny way. We're doing it in a fun, hallucinogenic way," Ryan reveals. Since Matt Morrison publically voiced his objections to a Britney-themed episode, Mr. Schuester will spend the whole episode refusing to do Britney songs. Ha! Awesome, right?

Glee in 3-D! No, seriously! Ryan was asked to do a Glee movie, but he declined. He did say if he were to ever take Glee to the big screen, he'd want to do "a 3-D concert version from Radio City." Shall we start that campaign now?

More mama drama. Ryan confirmed that Idina Menzel will be back for season two. Holler!

Not bringing sexy back. The rumor of Justin Timberlake appearing on Glee was again squashed by Ryan, but he did think that if he were to come on the show, he'd be perfect as Will's younger brother.

Daniel Sakow/PictureGroup via AP IMAGES New couple alert! Kind of. Currently, the writers are toying around with having Brittany and Santana kiss. Naya Rivera was also kind enough to drop their fan-given couple name: "Santittany." Titillating!

Less music? In the second season, Ryan and Co. will be focusing more on characters and their stories and less on musical numbers. He guesses season two will average about five numbers an episode as opposed to last season's eight. But rest assured, Ryan did promise that some episodes would get music-crazy.

Geek-splosion! Ryan announced they will be doing a Rocky Horror Picture Show-themed episode.

Season opener. The first half of the premiere episode will be catching up with everyone and what they did on their summer vacation. Ryan plans on starting the gang at "ground zero," as he calls it. "They start the year as bigger losers than they were last year because of their very public third-place finish."

Praise Jebus! Ryan revealed an upcoming episode theme to be religion. Songs to be covered: "Losing my Religion" and "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" Also, Mercedes will be taking Kurt somewhere special: her church! We already have goosebumps forming in anticipation of that gospel number.

Super Glee. We know that the precious time slot following the Super Bowl will be filled by Glee, but Ryan revealed it will be a tribute episode, though he can't tell us who they will be honoring.

Friend forever. Amber Riley told the crowd she loves Mercedes' relationship with Quinn and that she hopes it continues.

Home life. We are going to get glimpses into the home lives of New Directions. Ryan is interested in meeting Artie's mother, Rachel's two gay dads, and he also believes that Brittany has a "really smart older sister."

Botox Forces Rewrite on GLEE

From abs-cbnNEWS.com:

MANILA, Philippines – After the global backlash that resulted from Charice’s much-publicized cosmetic procedures, Ryan Murphy, the creator of hit American musical television series “Glee,” was forced to rewrite her episode, a report said.

The New York Magazine reported on July 19 that the rewritten episode contains a message that “it's important to love and embrace one's naturally round face as it is."

This was apparently in response to Filipino cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo’s explanation that the thermage and Botox procedures done on Charice was intended to make the 18-year-old singer’s naturally round face more narrow.

Belo said the botulinum toxin injections, which immobilize some muscles, would not have any effect on Charice's voice.

Recently, Charice caused an Internet uproar after having cosmetic surgery to improve her looks ahead of her debut on top US television show "Glee."

"It's one of the big preparations we are making for 'Glee' and of course I also want to look fresh on cam," Charice said in a TV interview as she defended her decision to have cosmetic surgery at such a young age.

Fans, however, flooded the star's official website, www.charicemania.com, as the issue became a hot Internet topic, with many lamenting the fact that she felt pressure to alter her face.

Worried by the negative feedbacks, Charice’s mom, Raquel, called on the public not to make a big deal out of the issue.

She tweeted: “Don't make it big deal pls? It might affect Cha's career. Belo, if you read this help Charice to achieve her dream. Don't push her down.”

Raquel also claimed that Belo “broke the confidentiality between the patient and the doctor” when the celebrity cosmetic surgeon allowed the media to witness the procedures.

In response, the Belo Medical Group tweeted: “As with all endorsers, this wouldn't have been made public without Charice's knowledge and consent.”

Charice's procedure has become a top-10 global topic on the social networking site Twitter.

The diminutive Filipina first gained global renown through video-sharing website YouTube and has since become a favorite of US TV talk show queen Oprah Winfrey.

"Glee" is an hour-long comedy series that follows an optimistic high school teacher as he works with a group of outcasts to revive the fortunes of the school's performance art club

@GLEEonFox - Shame on You

I have a bone to pick with GLEE on Fox. If you follow me on Twitter & want to unfollow after this post, then please read my previous post.

GLEEonFox has decided to attack the GLEEmunity & act as their very own Sue Sylvester. In starting this exciting little competition of "GLEEk of the Week", it is actually creating a horrific political scene amoungst the GLEEmunity. It makes me wonder if Sue...uh...I mean...er...GLEE on Fox really has it out for the GLEEmunity in it's own greatness.

Even a "glist" of sorts went out at one point. I feel honored to have made that list, but it was a ballot of voting against each other or for yourselves. I did not vote. ALL GLEEks should be worthy of that kind of honor & the reward should be acceptance into the GLEEmunity...in which you all ARE!

So, I think it's really sad seeing my fellow GLEEks competing with each other, when we are really all on the same ground. It hurts my GLEEful heart.

I know the natural competitive spirit will keep this up...and I always give shoutouts for whoever needs it...but...I cannot take sides from my GLEEks going "door-to-door" on Twitter trying to gain a vote that may not even count. I refuse to pick between any of you. Sue...I mean...GLEE on Fox has it's own initial vote. Period.

I live for GLEE & for building the GLEEmunity. I refuse to stack you all up against each other in this nasty game. I feel like Rachael calling you all out!

But...I guess that's how GLEEonFox "c's" it.

************************************************************************

Figgins: And we are not pitting these kids against each other.
Sue: I wanna pit these kids against each other, am I clear?

** Sound like @GLEEonFox with #GLEEkoftheWeek? **

GLEEky Posers & Other Pet Peeves

Well, GLEEks (especially on Twitter)...

In the last couple of weeks, there have been MANY of us on Twitter losing followers that are supposed "GLEEks".

If you are truly a part of the GLEEmunity, you will be there to support one another, follow each other, and make sure others are followed! Yes, there are several accounts that are dedicated to more than just GLEE, but there are the few (like mine) that are dedicated to GLEE...PERIOD!! I do take it on & have so many GLEEks or those involved with GLEE that I follow...I can't turn any of them down. Just note that even if you unfollow me, I will still follow you & even give you shoutout. That's the kind of GLEEk I am.

If you are a GLEEk, you will have no trouble following other GLEEks, no matter what is said! We are like the GLEE club & accept EVERYONE! We are each other's sounding board/bored! We may not like it, but we will be supportive of it. It is a "famiGLEE"! If you are not willing to take this on...

1. Do Not follow in the first place
2. Do Not put the word "GLEE" or anything pertainin to GLEE in your username

No GLEEk deserves to lose any followers...EVER!

This leads to the next annoyance: Spammers. Not only to they follow you for ridiculous reasons...they end up unfollowing you anyway because you won't follow them. Ugh!

Spammers & poser GLEEks...STAY AWAY!!!

Thank you & have a GLEEful day.

SYTYCD on GLEE?

by Jennifer Still of digitalspy.com:

Ashley Galvan has revealed that she would love to star in an episode of Glee.

The 19-year-old was recently eliminated from the seventh season of So You Think You Can Dance after a fractured rib rendered her unable to perform.

She hoped to be fully recovered soon and admitted that in addition to dancing, she plans to begin auditioning for TV and commercial roles.

"I'm hoping that I will be able to go on a lot of auditions for different jobs and just kind of continue my journey, which is only just beginning. Hopefully I get to work in movies and commercials and TV work," she told Inside Pulse.

"I'm hoping that someday I get to be on Glee. That's my dream, I hope I get to do that."

She added that an appearance on the Fox musical series would not be out of the question, as she has a background in acting.

"I did [train in acting], for about a year... because that's something I really wanted to do, something I really wanted to open up with because I am a shy person and I feel like doing acting will kind of help me grow up and not be so shy anymore," she explained.

Galvan's good friend and fellow competitor Robert Roldan recently said that his dance on Wednesday night's show was dedicated to her.

When is Too Young for Botox?

From Teresa Cerajano, Writer for Associated Press:

MANILA, Philippines – Baby-faced teen singer Charice says she prepared for her debut on the hit Fox TV show "Glee" [playing a foriegn exchange student with a big voice] by getting Botox and an anti-aging procedure "to look fresh on camera," but her publicist said the Botox was for muscle pain, not for cosmetic reasons.

The 18-year-old Filipino singer with a booming voice, who recently released her self-titled debut album, saw her career skyrocket after appearing on Ellen DeGeneres' and Oprah Winfrey's talk shows. She underwent a 30-minute Thermage skin-tightening procedure and Botox injections to make her "naturally round face" more narrow, celebrity cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo told ABS-CBN television.

However, Charice's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, said in an e-mail Monday the Botox was "absolutely not cosmetic," and added said the treatment was for muscle pain in her jaw.

Belo did the Botox procedure in front of the cameras.

"You chew gum and it turns out to be a favorite super-exercise for these muscles, your chewing muscles. So we will show you, this muscle here it's a bit protruding," Belo said as she touched Charice's face. "It's like a ball, so we are going to Botox that in order to get it flat so she will have a cuter face ... we want to give you the apple cheek look because it's cute, right?"

Charice, in the same interview, said last week's face makeover was part of her big preparations for her appearance on the hit show's second season. She starts filming at the end of this month.

"All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure," Charice said. Berry is portrayed by Lea Michele, who is 23.

In an earlier TV interview, Charice said she auditioned for "Glee" in mid-June in Los Angeles and was thankful to have been accepted.

"It's really a blessing," she said, adding she was "very proud to be an Asian, very proud to be Filipino."

On the streets of Manila on Monday, some residents who follow Charice had mixed feelings about what she did with her face.

"I think it's OK for women to have procedures done, but Charice is too young. Does she need it?" said Patricia Carpio, a 21-year-old student.

For Myrna Lumanao, a 23-year-old seller in a doughnut stall, looking natural is better. "I guess she can afford to have those procedures done because she has the money, but I wish she did not change her looks."

Dr. Malcolm Roth, president of New York's Society of Plastic Surgeons and director of plastic surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in New York, said he wasn't sure how someone so young could benefit from Botox.

"You would think that the makeup people could take care of (any wrinkles she might have) or that they could take care of it in post-production," he said.

But Roth said there might be some benefits for on-camera teens in Hollywood. "Some people do have hyperactive muscles and muscles are what create the wrinkles in certain types of expressions. ... It may be of some benefit for the camera, but I would be reticent to consider Botox for a normal 18-year-old."

Thermage is a non-surgical procedure that uses radio frequency technology, but Roth said evidence was inconclusive on whether skin can be tightened without surgery.

Born Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco and raised with her brother by a single mother, she sang in local contests and appeared on TV talent shows in the Philippines and South Korea before she got a big break on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" at age 15.

She later appeared several times on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" and credits Winfrey for helping push her career.

More O'Malley, More Spoilers, more, More, MORE!

By Korbi at www.givememyremote.com:

When I spoke to GLEE’s Mike O’Malley (Kurt’s dad, Burt Hummel) on Monday — in honor of his Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor — I got the feeling that the audience’s wish to see more of his character may be coming true.

But O’Malley couldn’t quite confirm anything.

Thankfully, I got some face time with his boss, executive producer Ryan Murphy, later in the day and he made the news official.

Mike O’Malley will indeed be a series regular for GLEE season 2.

This is a great thing for wonderful guy whom writer/producer Brad Falchuk named immediately when I asked if there was a particular nomination — among the show’s whopping 19 — that they were really excited about.

You can see this for yourself in my full video interview with him, Murphy, and Ian Brennan below… along with the reveal of a whole slew of other semi-spoilers, such as the fate of Rachel and Finn’s relationship this season — they will be a legitimate couple all year long, despite struggling with their clear differences — and the fact that Puck and Quinn won’t be together, as Quinn has her own journey to navigate now that she’s sans baby — the guys say she’ll be back to her old, bitchy self while somehow managing to maintain BFF status with Mercedes.

And what about a Puck and Rachel reunion?

The show may go there again, Murphy shares. It’s definitely possible. But he promises that a duet between the two of them this season is a sure thing.

What else did I learn?

Well, most of the outrageous guest star rumors are completely untrue, especially since they intend to really keep the focus on their regular cast members this year.

Javier Bardem, however, is a huge fan of the show and Murphy will write something for him, because how do you say no to Javier Bardem?

There is also a Britney Spears episode in the works — which Brit Brit is not expected to appear in — but it will somehow put the spotlight on her. Murphy says it won’t be like the Madonna-themed ep — in which, 10 of the artist’s songs were worked into the hour — or like the Lady Gaga-themed ep — during which, the artist’s fashion sense was really put on display — but something rather unlike anything they’ve done before. And the very quotable ditz, Brittany (Heather Morris), will apparently take center stage for it, singing two entire songs.

The guys say there is absolutely nothing in the works with Justin Timberlake though, so JT will not be wooing Terri Schuester (Jessalyn Gilsig) this season. Terri will be back in the mix full time, however, devoting her day-to-day efforts to winning Will back. One of the ways she’ll try to do it? By getting involved with a dude who’s actually capable of making him jealous. Whom that guy is, though, is still a mystery at this moment.

Kristin Chenoweth, as we previously reported, will return and the boys are just crossing their fingers that they’ll get the chance to bring Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Groff and Idina Menzel back as well…

Updated Premier Date

According to broadwayworld.com AND playbill.com:

Fox has announced the premier of GLEE: Season 2 will be on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.

So, adjust your countdown clocks (like I just did) and give yourselves more time to plan your viewing parties!

It also means we have to wait even longer...*sigh*

One of Rachael's Dads?

From broadwayworld.com

According the The Press Association, Torchwood star and stage favorite John Barrowman is on a quest to land a role on GLEE as one of Rachel Berry's dads. He tells the Heat: "I have no idea if I'll be in it, I met with their casting people and I said I'd love to be in it - I'd be good as one of Rachel's gay dads!"

No feedback yet as to whether or not he landed the role.

Television's most award-winning new series, GLEE was honored in its inaugural season with 19 Emmy nominations; a Peabody Award; a Golden Globe for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical; a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series; and a People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy. The music from GLEE is an international sensation with "Glee: The Music, Volume 1" and "Glee: The Music, Volume 2" topping charts in Australia, the U.K., New Zealand, Ireland and Canada. In the U.S., over 4.5 million songs have been downloaded, and both albums have been certified Gold for sales in excess of 500,000 units.

Barrowman is best known on British television for presenting work for the BBC and for his role as Captain Jack Harkness in the science fiction series Doctor Who and Torchwood. Barrowman has appeared on Live & Kicking and Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical talent shows Any Dream Will Do, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, and I'd Do Anything. Barrowman was a contestant on the celebrity ice skating show Dancing on Ice and was a guest act for the Royal Variety Performance. In 1998, Barrowman was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical, and in 2006 he was votEd Stonewall's "Entertainer of the Year". He has been featured on more than a dozen musical theatre recordings including cover tunes found on the certified gold album Another Side (2007), and Music Music Music (2008), the second Top 40 album by Barrowman to reach the UK albums and singles charts. His self-titled release John Barrowman (2010), received the highest chart rating of any of Barrowman's albums to date. With his sister as co-author, Barrowman has published two memoirs and autobiographies, Anything Goes (2008) and I Am What I Am (2009).

Season 2 Spoilers, Hopes & Dreams...

From Examiner.com's Danielle Turchiano:

Last night the three writers of Fox' hit musical comedy glee gathered at the Writer's Guild of America Theater in Beverly Hills for a Paley Center for Media moderated question and answer session about what it's like to work on such a show. Creator Ryan Murphy and his cohorts in crime Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuck all spoke the highest praises of their experience on the show and with the network.

"I approach it as I do everything: how'd that happen?" Murphy only half-joked when congratulated on the show's academy recognition, receiving nineteen Emmy nominations, including nominations for all three men as writers.

He admitted that it was mostly due to the support of the network that they were allowed to expand from only a few numbers per episode to eight or nine, but he did tell the crowd of Gleeks that the second season will see a return to only about five per episode in order to allow for more character moments.

"That's something you learn [is more important] as you go," Murphy theorized.

Murphy also shared that lucky fans sticking around for the Sunday panel of his show at Comic Con will be treated to exclusive footage from the MySpace national talent search. He announced last night to Paley Center members and fans that they are extending their search until September because they want to be sure they find the right person but also because they want to spend the beginning part of the season focusing on the immense talent they already have, rather than bringing in more.

One of the characters they will, of course, be expanding is that of Rachel (Lea Michele), who Murphy said he truly understands because he "get[s] madness and vulnerability." Rachel and Finn (Cory Monteith)'s relationship will be explored more, as well because Murphy also feels it is interesting to "keep them together-- this totally different couple-- and see what that looks like."

And of course, Finn still has the secret that he really did sleep with Santana (Naya Rivera). Murphy said that could make an episode in and of itself as Rachel learns of his not quite lie but still untruth and then has to deal with it.

But as Falchuk added, "everything is heightened" in high school, so undoubtedly they will still break up, get back together, and potentially even sleep with other people before all is said and done! Murphy himself doesn't want to see Rachel and Finn sleep together too soon because he feels that once that happens "all the air gets let out of the room." If he has his way, then, the fan favorite couple won't be getting physical until a few seasons down the road.

But they will still be bringing in new characters-- some to throw obstacles and some to come in as "mentors" or friends. Murphy confirmed that Javier Bardem will be guest starring on the show after the two worked together in the upcoming film Eat, Pray, Love with Julia Roberts. Murphy congratulated him at a press junket about winning an acting award at the Cannes film festival, and he said "I don't want to talk about Cannes; I want to talk about glee!" Murphy imitated Bardem's accent and everything for the crowd. Apparently, according to Murphy anyway, Bardem "downloaded all of the episodes and watched them [in a row] in a crack binge."

"How do you say no to Javier Bardem? You don't!" Murphy laughed.

Though other entertainment news outlets have been reporting that John Stamos has been cast as Emma (Jayma Mays)'s new love interest, Murphy admitted they are still looking at "a very short list" of candidates. "He has to be someone so amazing he would blow Will out of the water!" Murphy explained.

And Matthew Morrison fans may have another reason to worry about his character next season. Falchuck said that the thing about glee is that it needs villains, and one of his favorite ones to write is Will's ex-wife, Terri (Jessalyn Gilsig). "[She's] not just a bitch; she has a point of view," Falchuck explained. "She will do anything to get Will, just as [last season] she did anything to keep him. She's just a woman in love; it makes her more sympathetic."

Additionally, season two will see the return of Kristin Chenoweth in an episode the guys are about to embark upon writing, and Murphy expressed an interest in seeing Neil Patrick Harris reprise his role of angry Bryan Ryan but "he's on a competing network!" Jonathan Groff, would be a welcome return, as well, but he is committed to doing a play in London until January-- and didn't his character graduate last season anyway??-- so that is looking like a no go...for now.

And of course, there will be another road to Nationals. We will see Sectionals and Regionals and Nationals all throughout next season. However, Murphy would like to point out that just because we see the end game doesn't mean New Directions makes it there. "It's like the Rocky movies," he joked. "They will get to Russia eventually...[but] I also think it would be interesting to see them just go to New York to experience it."

But if every season of glee comes full-circle the way Murphy said he intends them to, then one would assume that this first season was about lessons in humility, being the underdog, and not coming out on top, but season two will most likely be about them coming into their own and shining on a larger level.

Baby, Hit Me With One More Tribute

According to GLEEtastic.com:

Oops, they did it again! Despite the rumors about Glee guest stars being pitched at tremendously high levels right now, creator Ryan Murphy couldn't help but stoke the flames a little more.

Murphy told Entertainment Tonight that, as has been rumored, he is in the middle of working on the Britney Spears tribute episode for Season 2! But will Britney show up at McKinley High? The Glee creator wouldn't confirm whether or not BritBrit would make an appearance herself.

He also let slip that the post-Super Bowl edition of Glee will be a tribute too, but wouldn't reveal the top secret star. When asked if it might be Michael Jackson, Murphy could only reply that it was "close." Hmm, the plot thickens!

Not Changing My Countdown...Yet...

OK...apparently the Tuesday, Sept. 7th kickoff to Season 2 is only speculation right now. FOX will NOT confirm this & say it hasn't been set yet. (yeah, right) Obviously someone "leaked" the info to get GLEEks all riled up...

That's just fine. It gives us hope & something to look forward to...no matter what! I will keep my countdown clock going to the Sept. 7th date. Then I will change it if I have to. So there!

Growing the #GLEEmunity

Hello GLEEks!

As many of you know, the GLEEmunity phenomenon has gotten really big on Twitter. It is so awesome! Just to let you know that there is now a page on Facebook, too!

Let's keep building a bigger, better & stronger GLEEmunity, GLEEks!

The Woods Family

I am looking forward to more of Brittany in Season 2! LOVE HER character!! AND...there is a strong possiblity of having an episode dedicated to HER...YEA!!

So...a fellow GLEEk on Twitter, @HeMoFacts, had a fun game yesterday where GLEEks were asked to come up with some nominees to be different parts of her family, then they were voted on. So, the democracy of the GLEEmunity chose the following:

Mr. Woods - Brendan Frasier
Mrs. Woods - Lisa Kudrow
Lil Sis Woods - Violet Affleck

And I've made it quite known that I would LOVE for Betty White to play Brittany's Great Grandmother, named Catherine (goes by "Cat") & has been, in fact, reading the diary.

OK...I did point out that Violet is a 4yo & Brit's sis is supposed to be 7...but the GLEEmunity has spoken! What are you're thoughts?

Waiting...

Hey GLEEks!

First, if you are reading this, you have noticed the GLEEful Countdown on my blog! Just counting down the arrival of...GLEE: Season 2!! (Sept. 7, 2010) I'm terribly excited & would love to hear if anyone is planning viewing parties & such!

Also, the Emmy nominations will be announced tomorrow. C'mon, GLEE!! Hoping they are up for a LOT!!

And...the TCA's (Teen Choice Awards) will be Monday, Aug. 9th @ 7PM, CT on FOX. Let's hope GLEE & cast receive a lot of surfboards & mention the GLEEmunity in their acceptance speeches!! They are up for MANY of the categories!

Did I mention that Season 2 begins on Tuesday, Sept. 7th? Just checking...

Sue Sylvester Unveiled as a Fake!

From ETonline.com:

"Glee"'s Jane Lynch is getting ready to be immortalized in wax as her character Sue Sylvester at Madame Tussauds and ET came along as she was measured.

"You think this is hard? I'm passing a gallstone as I speak - that's hard!" Jane joked to the camera as she held still for the measurement. "Posing for a wax figurine is exhausting!"

In all seriousness, Jane waxed poetic about her character: "I hope we capture the inner Sue, but you know what, the inner Sue is the inner Jane Lynch as well. I mean, there's a little mean girl in me, it's a part of me that I use for Sue Sylvester, so I probably couldn't act it if I didn't have it in me."

She also commented on the strange notion of a replica of herself that could outlive her, saying, "It's almost freaky and the great thing about it is that when I die, my nieces and nephews can come see me, and re-visit me."

Jane's wax figure will be unveiled on August 4 and "Glee: The Complete First Season DVD Collection" hits stores on September 14.

GLEE Not Going Holmes

From WENN.com:

A rep for Katie Holmes has denied the actress is set to show off her singing and dancing skills on the hit show.

The former Dawson's Creek star was rumored to be in discussions with Fox network bosses for a five-part guest spot for the show's upcoming second season.

Tabloid the National Enquirer claimed Holmes had even hired a singing coach to work on her vocals in preparation for her appearance.

However, Holmes' publicist insists there is no truth to the speculation, telling GossipCop.com, "The Glee story is not true."

Javier Bardem will ROCK Season 2

From nymag.com:

Javier Bardem is expected to appear on the second season of Glee, following in the footsteps of celebrity guest stars Neil Patrick Harris, Kristin Chenoweth and Josh Groban, according to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello. Bardem reportedly pitched the idea to Glee creator Ryan Murphy, his director on the upcoming Eat Pray Love. Though the thought of Bardem playing one of Rachel Berry’s dads (paired with Hugh Jackman perhaps?) has us salivating like Mr. Schuester in the hair product aisle, the Oscar winner will instead be taking on the role of a rock star who befriends wheelchair-bound Artie. “We’re going to rock the house,” said Bardem, who claims to have watched the entire first season of Glee in a week, “We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.”
