Viewing Party Menu (Tweaked)

Well GLEEks...

If you remember a few weeks ago, I put up a GLEE-inspired menu for a GLEE viewing/watch party! I may have to make some changes to it...so, here's an update:

* Gourmet Slushie Cakes a la GLEE (see previous post)(this is a 2-for-1 deal)
* Breadsticks
* Brittany Bars - Cereal treats made w/ fruity Cheerios (the fruity ones are the colors of the square root of 4)
* Anything with a chocolate or butter "drizzle" (i.e. cookies w/ chocolate drizzle)
* "I'm Sorry" Cookies
* Slushies or snowcones (snowcones are pretty close to slushies & you can get a maker)
* Protein shakes &/or Gatorade

Have I missed something on the menu? Let me know! Bon AppeGLEEte & Party GLEEfully!

Slushie? Cupcake? Anyone?

Hey GLEEKs!

If you've been keeping up, you know I have been trying to figure out how to make an awesome slushie cupcake (a.k.a. Gourmet Slushie Cake a la GLEE)!

I have just finished Gourmet Slushie Cake: Phase II, Stage II: GRAPE!

Tastes like a grape slushie in cake form, too! YEA! Just a couple more tweaks, and I will be very happy with my cupcakes! Just in time for my viewing party on 9/21!! Plus, I want them to taste as good as they look AND look even better than my Twitter background!

Here's some of the grape with a couple of the orange ones from Phase II, Stage I:

Wemma Happily Ever After...?

From Cristina Gibson (H'Wood Party Girl) at Eonline.com:

Gleeks out there who were horrified by the doomsday report Ryan Murphy gave my TV diva cohort on the future of Will and Emma, take heart: Jayma Mays is rooting for them to work out!

"There's definitely still interest there but I think Emma's trying to be wise and not put all of her eggs in one basket. And I think she's just allowing herself time to pursue other things and maybe heal herself from her germaphobic tendencies a bit as well," she told me at last night's Audi pre-Emmy bash.

So there's a chance John Stamos won't steal her away from Matthew Morrison forever? Jayma, who posed for pics with Matthew last night, said she's crossing her fingers for Wemma to live happily ever after.

"Personally, I still feel they belong together," she said. "They seem to be the perfect match. I think it's a timing thing that might make them a little bit off right now. But I think that's where her heart is but there's nothing wrong with other things either."

More good news for Jayma on Glee: it looks like she'll be getting to sing soon!

"I've heard that there's a song coming up but I don't know any specifics," she said. "I said I'd like to sing some Kenny G the other day and no one got it."

The party was hosted by her Glee costar Jane Lynch, who told me she's bringing her new wife to the Emmys...

Kings of Leon Too Good for GLEE...Apparently

From Fox411's Sodahead at foxnews.com:

Kings of Leon recently confirmed that they think they're too good for the hit show "Glee."

Well, speaking on behalf of the millions of Gleeks, we have to say, excuuuuuse us for wanting to hear your music on our favorite show, Kings of Leon!

Let's face it -- Kings of Leon are good, but they not exactly Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin.

And while Madonna, Britney, and Gaga have been honored to be featured on "Glee," Kings of Leon have better things to do.

"We could have sold out so much more. We turn stuff down constantly," bassist Jared Followill told England's New Musical Express.

They also dissed the now-canceled "Ugly Betty."

"We got an offer to appear on an episode of 'Ugly Betty,'" bassist Jared Followill said. "They wanted us to play ourselves. We were supposed to come in and help her out with some problem or other."

Time for GLEEks!

From Christopher Rosen at GLEEtastic.com:

We know how great the Glee fanbase is, but now it appears the nation is beginning to catch on too! Time magazine has listed the 10 most offbeat fan followings — and congratulations Gleeks, you made the list!

Says Robert Marick of Fox Consumer Products: "Glee fans, or Gleeks, don't just watch the show — they live it." Damn right! That includes Gleek of the Week voting and pretty much adding "Glee" to anything that it would rhyme with (Gleehab, OMGlee, etc.). So what do you say, Gleeks? Are you happy to be part of such a great fan community?

Whatever! We've Seen This Song & Dance Before!

Well GLEEks...

Kings of Leon is the next band to turn GLEE down for using their music. Really? Why?

They have just put themselves out there as the fools of the music world! Why...almost EVERYONE wants to be involved with GLEE somehow! Heck, Sir Paul McCartney is THROWING his music at the Ryan Murphy to make sure it's used!

The only ones dead set against open involvement with GLEE so far have been Coldplay, Miley Cyrus & now Kings of Leon...oh...wait...Coldplay came crawling back with their apology & opened their catalog right up to the show after seeing it's success! DUH!

Well, I'm pretty sure Kings of Leon will hear all the success that all the other artists have had with their music being used on the show...then in a few months, they will pull a Coldplay & come crawling back to Ryan Murphy with their music catalog wide open!

Whatever, Kings of Leon! You're not fooling anyone here...

Miley might take a bit to come around. She'll pout when she's an adult & openly talk about the fact she never got to be on the show...

Sony is a whole different story! Why won't they let Michael Jackson('s music) be on GLEE? Still working on that one...

How #MJonGLEE Should Go

Will is still pining for Emma & wants to change so he sings "Man in the Mirror" & gets inspired to assign the New Directions the coveted Michael Jackson songs for the week.

Quinn & Mercedes have a fight about Quinn's attitude &/or Quinn is fighting Sue & Santana about the Cheerios ("Scream"). Sue & Santana continue to stand their ground...along with Brittany ("Bad" or "Beat It" & Figgins can dance to it - LOL).

Kurt is fighting with the new chick about his sexuality & getting down about the fact she can't deal with him ("Smile").

Rachael is still fighting Jacob about his stupid blog full of rumors ("Just Leave Me Alone" - actually Quinn can sing this to Sue & Santana). Puck just fights everyone (The one Sue & Santana don't use or "Smooth Criminal"). Jessie shows up & wants Rachael & sings "Do You Remember the Time"; Finn reminds Rachael how he feels about her w/ "The Way You Make Me Feel". Artie fights Mike for Tina ("The Girl is Mine" along with Will & the dentist...and maybe Jessie & Finn for Rachael).

The New Directions sing "Thriller" in the auditorium & the Cheerios dance it in the gym while Sue sports a Jackson-ized tracksuit.

By the end, most everyone comes together with "I'll Be There" at the end of the episode.

Will still struggles to get Emma...

Even More Superbowl Episode Rumors...

From Christopher Rosen at GLEEtastic.com:

There has been so much speculation about which big-name star is going to have their music featured on the post-Super Bowl episode of Glee that it's a bit dizzying — take your pick from rumored choices Beyonce, The Beatles, Prince, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, and Elvis. But finally a Glee castmember has come out and announced who she wants! Take it away Lea Michele:

“I think they are saving Justin Timberlake for the Super Bowl episode. They have to be, because he is so perfect for our show. He has to be on it! When I met Jessica Biel, like a loser, I asked her to tell Justin to come on our show (laughs). She was a little taken aback and said, ‘Um, OK. I’ll tell him.’ If not Justin, I would hope it would be the sequel to the Madonna episode. She has so many more amazing songs we didn’t even touch.”

More Madonna would be fun, but JT would be pretty great. Also, it's comforting to know that Lea is a giant dork in real life. If we met Jessica Biel we'd probably say something similar... well, after picking our jaws up off the floor!

GLEE Needs a Little More Pepper...

From GLEEtastic.com:

If you've watched television in the last couple of years, you've probably seen Sarah Drew somewhere. The Everwood star has appeared on Mad Men, Private Practice. and, of course, Grey's Anatomy. She'll be back on Grey's in a full-time capacity this year — but that doesn't mean she can't stop by another show that she's associated with: Glee!

That's right, Gleeks: According to E!, Sarah will make a return appearance on Glee as Suzy Pepper — Rachel's nemesis and the girl who had a major, major crush on Mr. Schuester. So she gets to see McDreamy and Mr. Schue IRL? Talk about good career choices!

GLEEful Bieber Invite?

From Hilton Hater at thehollywoodgossip.com:

Britney Spears is booked for an appearance on Glee.

Might Justin Bieber follow in her (kinda trashy) footsteps?

In an interview with Access Hollywood this week, series creator Ryan Murphy was asked if he'd entertain the idea of Bieber on his Fox hit? The enthusiastic reply, according to TV Fanatic:

"I think he's so phenomenally talented and I think he's great. So, yes, if he was interested I would make that happen... the [cast sings] his stuff all day long. They sing 'Baby.'"

In just its first season, Glee showcased big-name guest stars such as Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Idina Menzel and Molly Shannon. John Stamos and Carol Burnett have already signed on for season two appearances.

The Argument for Colfer Winning an Emmy

From Tom O'Neil at goldderby.latimes.com:

I can't recall the last time I disagreed so strongly with both of our Emmy gurus Chris "Boomer" Beachum and Rob Licuria (AwardsHeaven). They're picking Eric Stonestreet to win supporting comedy actor based on the big, bombastic performance he gives as a clown in the "Fizbo" episode of "Modern Family." Yes, that's a hoot, and brassy comedic roles often win here (Jeremy Piven, Sean Hayes, Michael Richards), but I think Chris Colfer delivers the bombastic equivalent in song when he belts out "Rose's Turn" in the "Laryngitis" episode of "Glee." Heck, it's such a winning number that three gals have Tony Awards for performing it on Broadway in "Gypsy" (Tyne Daly, Angela Lansbury, Patti LuPone).

Not only that, but Colfer shows off his acting chops by delivering broad emotional range in a one-hour episode, which is twice as long as rival nominees. Episode size is often key to victory. Lastly, Colfer fearlessly and defiantly embraces his sexuality in the story line. Remember who's voting here — actors, the most gay-friendly group of people on the planet. Just look how gay this category is: three gay roles (Stonestreet, Colfer, Jesse Tyler Ferguson) plus Neil Patrick Harris, who is out in real life. Yes, Stonestreet's character is gay too, but it's not a compelling issue in the episode being judged here.

If all this sounds like a solid argument to you, don't rush to judgment. Rob and Boomer say I'm wrong. Read why below. Then watch our webcam slugfest over this category here.
Glee Chris Colfer Modern Family news

COMEDY SUPPORTING ACTOR: ROB'S PREDIX
1. Eric Stonestreet, "Modern Family" ("Fizbo")
2. Chris Colfer, "Glee" ("Laryngitis")
3. Ty Burrell, "Modern Family" ("Game Changer")
4. Jon Cryer, "Two and a Half Men" ("Captain Terry's Spray-On Hair")
5. Neil Patrick Harris, "How I Met Your Mother" ("Guys vs. Suits")
6. Jesse Tyler Ferguson, "Modern Family" ("Family Portrait")

ROB'S COMMENTARY: This is a solid group of nominees, with all but one of them choosing episodes that perfectly showcase their best performance. Jesse Tyler Ferguson is quite good in his first few scenes of "Family Portrait," which are more physical comedy rather than the usual quippy sarcasm that his character does so well. The last couple of scenes disadvantage him because he is more background fodder than front and center.

Neil Patrick Harris gets quite a bit of screen time in his episode, and he gets to sing and dance and be over-the-top crazy. In my mind, however, the material is just plain awful and is not Emmy worthy. Similarly, Jon Cryer is one of the funnier contenders in this group, but I felt it was more run-of-the-mill slapstick rather than great material to work with. I'm not so sure he will win again with what he has been given.

Ty Burrell is the problem for me in this group. He could have chosen much better episodes than the dreaded "iPad" episode, and he would have been a standout front-runner. What helps him is that he shares some scenes with Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson in their respective episodes, which only serves to boost his visibility in the eyes of voters. That all being said, Burrell does have some funny moments in this episode, and he does have quite a lot of good will and buzz.

I would normally have written off Chris Colfer's chances at the Emmy because I do not think he is technically one of the funnier contenders. But putting "comedy" aside, if we are judging performance, then Colfer is a serious threat to walk away with the trophy. He belts out a great show tune, he has wonderfully sentimental moments with Mike O'Malley playing his understanding father, and there is a degree of the comedic when he is playing "straight."

But at the end of the day, Eric Stonestreet as Fizbo just makes me laugh like nobody else can. Admittedly, he doesn't have nearly as much to do as you might recall (upon reviewing the episode, it occurred to me that my good will toward this performance may be a little biased). But he does share scenes with Ferguson in his episode, and I think the crazy over-the-top sight gag that is this huge clown running through a kid's birthday party plus the perfectly executed scene at the gas station may be enough to get him over the line.

COMEDY SUPPORTING ACTOR: BOOMER'S PREDIX
1. Eric Stonestreet, "Modern Family" ("Fizbo")
2. Ty Burrell, "Modern Family" ("Game Changer")
3. Chris Colfer, "Glee" ("Laryngitis")
4. Neil Patrick Harris, "How I Met Your Mother" ("Girls vs. Suits")
5. Jon Cryer, "Two and a Half Men" ("Captain Terry's Spray-On Hair")
6. Jesse Tyler Ferguson, "Modern Family" ("Family Portrait")

BOOMER'S COMMENTARY: Perplexing! It's a category filled with possible winners, depending on the tastes and preferences of the judging panel. That makes it incredibly hard to predict this year. After watching all of the submitted episodes, my best guess and gut feeling is that Eric Stonestreet wins the Emmy. In his episode, he goes back to his past to wear his old clown outfit (Fizbo) for his nephew's birthday party. Nothing overwhelmingly funny happens that implores the voters to reward him, but the best scene is when he and Mitchell are at the gas station. Stonestreet also has a couple of good moments shared with his co-stars on their episodes.

If voters watched "Modern Family" throughout the season, they may want to vote for Ty Burrell. I don't personally see he gathers votes based strictly on his submission, but it has more of a complete start-to-finish storyline among the three nominees from this series.

I was truly blown away by Chris Colfer's episode choice, in which he has funny moments throughout the first half, serious scenes with his father and an amazing performance from the musical "Gypsy." He definitely has a chance to win, but somehow I think his age (he would be the youngest winner in this category by far) works against him with voters.

Neil Patrick Harris continues his tradition of submitting poor episodes for the Emmy judges. In fact, I was shocked at how far downhill the writing has gone for this once-great show (almost Disney Channel comedy level writing at this stage). He does perform an Emmy-nominated song at the end of the show, but I don't think it will be enough.

I actually think Jon Cryer has a minor shot at repeating his win, because his episode once again has a nice blend of dialogue with Charlie Sheen and some physical humor. It isn't nearly as funny as last year's episode, though.

Poor Jesse Tyler Ferguson doesn't have a prayer with no character arc or depth to play in his episode (his fear of a bird -- really?) and the better performances from his own co-stars.

About Brit /Brit & the Superbowl Tribute...

From GLEEtastic.com:

For a guy who doesn't like spoilers, Ryan Murphy is doing a good job of getting them all out there himself! The contradictory Glee mastermind appeared on Ryan Seacrest's radio show today and let loose a torrent of scoop!

For starters: Yes, Britney Spears will appear on her own tribute episode! But don't expect any mocking. "The Britney episode, I'm here to say, is so reverential about her," said Murphy, "and so kind and it's about her music and it's not about her personal life. And I think, Britney Spears is pop-culture, and I think she's been through a lot. And I want to do something that just sort of says, you know what, 'thank you for what you have done.'" Awesome! Ryan doesn't know who Brit-Brit will appear as, but here's guessing herself!

He also revealed that the Michael Jackson episode, while on the top of his wishlist, might not happen because of rights issues. He said that MJ, The Beatles, or Prince could be the focus of the post-Super Bowl edition. Let's hear it for The Beatles and be done with it!

Brit Invasion Continues on GLEE...

From USmagazine.com:

Gleeks and Britney fans, rejoice!

Glee creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that Britney Spears will appear on the upcoming episode of the FOX hit dedicated to her pop songs.

"Britney, I think 100 percent, is going to be on the episode" for a "couple of scenes," Murphy revealed during a Tuesday radio appearance for On-Air with Ryan Seacrest.

Murphy teased that "the fun Britney stuff happens" when members of the show's glee club go under anesthesia at the dentist (played by John Stamos) and hallucinate about the Circus singer, 28. "They have fantasies of how they can be like her," he explained.

Don't expect the episode to poke fun at Britney's famous head-shaving incident or other lowpoints in her infamous breakdowns of 2007 and 2008.

"The Britney episode, I'm here to say, is so reverential about her," Murphy insisted. "It's about her music and it's not about her personal life."

"Britney Spears is pop culture, and I think she' s been through a lot," he said of the divorced mom of two. "I want to do something that just sort of says, you know what, 'thank you for what you have done. And we're encouraging you to continue to be doing as fantastic as you are.'... We're handling Britney with kid gloves."

"I really admire what she's done with her life and how she's turned herself around," added Murphy, who also directed Julia Roberts' new flick Eat, Pray, Love.

** Just an added note that Britney Spears has been celebrating by following many in the GLEEmunity on Twitter! I am one of them! **

Rumors at Rest for #MJonGLEE...or Not...?

From @ItsAGleekThing at www.mjonglee.wordpress.com:

Rumors were flying around twitter that a Michael Jackson Episode was confirmed. Today they were put to rest as Ryan Seacrest tweeted that he spoke to Ryan Murphy and he said that there were no plans yet about the episode but he wants to do it. https://twitter.com/RyanSeacrest/status/20804103306.

However it seems that the Glee cast are more than ready to tackle the MJ episode. Here’s what they revealed during interviews on the red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards.
Matt Morrison: “That would be pretty cool, He is probably the best and most iconic performer in the history of music.”
Jenna Ushkowitz: “That’s a scary, scary episode to do, But that would be absolutely amazing.”
Amber Riley: “Hey, I would love to do a Michael Jackson episode.”
Harry Shum Jr: “All I know is I should be able to do some Michael, please. I’m excited to dive in there and make some magic.”
Heather Morris: “I’m excited to see what [show creator] Ryan Murphy could do with ‘Bad.’ Whatever they’re gonna do, it’s gonna be hysterical.”
Check out the entire article http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2010/08/09/glee-michael-jackson/.

Also, Chord Overstreet (one of Glee’s new characters for season 2) said, “I would love to cover Michael Jackson, too” he said. “I want to do at least one Michael Jackson song. I like ‘Beat It’ a lot.” [Source E!Online]. And let’s not forget that our dear Principal Figgins wants to “Beat It”. ;)

Hosting Yet Something Else...That's How Sue C's It

From Carina Adly MacKenzie at zap2it.com:

Good news, "Saturday Night Live" fans! The series' upcoming 36th season is almost guaranteed to get off to a very funny start when Emmy-nominated "Glee" villain Jane Lynch brings her talents to NYC.

Lynch will be hosting one of the first episodes of "SNL's" fall season on October 9th, according to Movieline. Though Lynch brings her sarcastic humor to every character she plays, we can't help but think that she should play Sue Sylvester in every sketch. We'd love to see Sue interact with our favorite "SNL" characters - everyone from the Target Lady to Obama could use her words of wisdom.

Plus, we've got our fingers crossed for a "That's How Sue C's It" segment live from the Weekend Update desk.

Yet Another Ring in the #MJonGLEE Circus

So far this Michael Jackson tribute episode has been quite a circus...much like his life AND death! A very interesting paralell surrounds this! Hmmm...and much like a song from the upcoming tribute episode...

From @ItsAGleekThing on http://mjonglee.wordpress.com:

More news again! It feels like we’re on a roller-coaster as we wait in anticipation to see if there really will be a Michael Jackson tribute episode.

Yesterday our hopes were up as Ryan Seacrest said that Adam Shankman hinted that he would be working on the MJ episode. Today, however it’s a different story as Adam tells E! News “I can’t say [which episode I'll be directing], but it’s not the thing everybody thinks it is.” He goes on to say “All I went was ‘hee hee’ in Michael Jackson’s voice,
I didn’t say yes I was doing the Michael Jackson episode.” Read the entire story here http://bit.ly/9q6Xpg.

I must admit, I was disappointed after reading that but then the lovely Iqbal Thebal who plays Principal Figgins on Glee tweeted a link hinting again at a MJ episode! He told HollywoodLife.com “Oh man, [I’d love to see us perform] Beat It of course, because I used to dance to that song in college. I have some really fond memories, and I would like to dance to that song. I don’t know if they would let me but I would love to do something like that.” Now how cool is that?! I’ve always wanted to see Figgins dance . Check it out http://www.hollywoodlife.com/2010/08/06/exclusive-%E2%80%98glee%E2%80%99-principal-iqbal-theba-wants-to-beat-it-on-the-michael-jackson-episode/.

Everyday brings more news about controversial MJ episode. I wonder what we’ll hear tomorrow? The campaigning continues on twitter, we won’t stop until we are 110% sure of the tribute! Keep supporting #MJonGlee and follow @MJonGLEE!

@KristinDSantos & @adammshankman...WHY?

But we WANT the Michael Jackson tribute!!!

From Kristin Dos Santos at eonline.com:

Even the best singers on Glee know you can't win regionals without an awesome dance routine.

So who better to direct an episode than So You Think You Can Dance judge, Step Up 3D producer and famed choreographer Adam Shankman?

During the TCA press tour Monday, Glee show runner Ryan Murphy confirmed that Adam would be directing one of the first 10 episodes next season. Read on to hear what Adam told us last night about his episode (including the Michael Jackson rumors) and who he's most excited to direct...

"I can't say [which episode I'll be directing]," Adam told us backstage last night after the SYTYCD semifinal, "but it's not the thing everybody thinks it is."

Yesterday, Ryan Seacrest tweeted that he "got a pretty heavy hint" from Adam "that he's directing the MJ episode." "All I went was 'hee hee' in Michael Jackson's voice," Adam told us. "I didn't say yes I was doing the Michael Jackson episode.

"I literally sent an email to Ryan Murphy saying I had nothing to do with" the Michael Jackson reports, Adam told us. "The details are not all in—I don't even know if the music is all chosen for the episode."

"I told Ryan the episodes I respond to the best were the ones that pack an emotional wallop. He came up with the idea for the one that he wants me to do."

About the Glee cast, Adam says, "I absolutely adore them. They're all really crazy big fans of So You Think You Can Dance and they were at the Step Up premiere, all of them."

"But I'll tell you who I'm dying to work with: Jane Lynch."

*sigh* Let's keep pushing harder GLEEks & MJFam!!

OMGLEE! MJonGLEE at 90%

You heard me right, GLEEks!

An inside source has informed me, & my other campaign leaders for MJonGLEE, that the Michael Jackson tribute is a 90% go, via Twitter!!

OMGlee!! Let's keep the faith, GLEEmunity!! But...do NOT give up the campaign until it is 100% a go!!

Plus there is this:

http://mjonglee.wordpress.com/2010/08/05/mj-on-glee-updates/
And...Adam Shankman has dropped a hint to Ryan Seacrest that he may be the one to direct it!

As more comes to be in this, you can bet you will find it here AND at http://mjonglee.wordpress.com!

Quinn is Back! Could it Mean Trouble?

Hey GLEEks...

Think about how this drama might unfold through Season 2:

Quinn wants her Cheerios uniform & ponytail back, right? And it could cause some friction between her & Mercedes, right?

Well, Santana & Brittany are supposed to be the head of the Cheerios now, sorta. Sue keeps dangling that carrot in front of them...so they are co-head cheerleaders, they just don't know it! Well, they may realize their position when Quinny wants to come back! Hmmmm...

Plus, Becky Jackson has the filled spot on Cheerios! And we know that Sue has that serious soft-spot in her heart for Becky!

Oh wait! What if "Audition" is also about trying out for the Cheerios & not just the Glee Club?

Whoa! The plot really thickens...!

What About That Tribute...@KristinDSantos?

OK GLEEks...

Many of you may have seen where there were interview videos posted from Kristin Dos Santos from E! with several of the GLEE cast. In TWO of the interviews she brought up the "secret tribute" and then brought up Bruce Springsteen. WHAT?

I called her out on it on Twitter letting her know that her pushing the Bruce Springsteen thing was unsatisfactory and that the GLEEmunity AND die-hard Michael Jackson fans are really rallying together & campaigning for a Michael Jackson tribute. Here was her response to me:

@KristinDSantos Not pushing. Not a fan. Just predicting it'll happen! RT @allGLEEk2me: @KristinDSantos is publicly pushing for a Bruce Springsteen tribute on #GLEE! We need to let her know we want #MJonGLEE!

I have responded to her saying we are predicting AND pushing for the Jackson tribute. We all need to rally together more! She gets to actually TALK to these people face-to-face that we could only hope to!

If you want to join in our campaign, on Twitter, please use the tag of #MJonGLEE and also help support the newly setup account dedicated to it, @MJonGLEE! Co-creator of GLEE, Brad Falchuk, just got an account on Twitter yesterday. You can find him at @BFalchuk. I think he's got some pull, so I know I have already thrown out a GLEEt (GLEE + tweet...check the GLEEktionary) about the push for the Michael Jackson tribute to him.

There is also a Facebook campaign on this, Michael Jackson "Glee Episode"!

Kristin, if you read this &/or get a hint from my tweet...please let it out that there is a global push for a Michael Jackson tribute!

Thank you for your support.

We May "C" Sue's Mom...

...and was I right & am I getting my wish? Looks like it! *BIG SCREAM*

From Michael Ausiello at EW.com:

This is so utterly perfect, I’m shocked we didn’t think of it first: Comedy legend Carol Burnett has been tapped to play Sue Sylvester’s Nazi-hunting mother on Glee, sources confirm to me exclusively.

I’ll give you a moment to process the sheer brilliance of that casting before continuing…

Sue referenced her adventurous parents in an episode of the Fox phenom last season. Details of Mama Sylvester’s arrival are being kept under wraps, but I’m told Sue’s father will not be accompanying her.

The six-time Emmy-winning Burnett has only made a handful of TV appearances in recent years, most notably playing Bree’s evil stepmother on Desperate Housewives in 2006 and a Rockette-turned-strip club owner on Law & Order: SVU (for which she was nominated for an Emmy) in 2009.

Burnett’s episode is slated to air in October or November.

** I cannot even express how excited I am about this!! I dreamed of this pairing! http://allgleek2me.blogspot.com/2010/06/gleeful-family-connections-i-would-love.html **

Brittany is SOOOOO Britney

From broadwayworld.com:

'Glee' stars Lea Michele and Heather Morris were recently interviewed by Access Hollywood about season two's upcoming Britney Spears tribute episode. Michele, who has read the script, describes it as "15 music videos inside this episode, very much like the Madonna [tribute episode]." Heather Morris, who plays 'Brittany,' will be playing Britney Spears in a dream sequence. BroadwayWorld brings you a look at the interview below!

Britney Spears became a powerful member of the teen genre return in the late '90s. The runaway success of the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys opened the door for her own musical breakthrough. Brit Invasion on GLEE

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Singer Susan Boyle and the music of Paul McCartney are to be featured in the new season of TV musical comedy "Glee" -- joining a growing list of performers eager to be associated with the hit show.

"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy told reporters on Monday that Boyle -- who found unexpected fame on the show "Britain's Got Talent" last year -- would feature in a Christmas-themed episode. She is expected to play a high school lunch lady. Boyle is reportedly recording a Christmas album.

Murphy also said that former Beatle McCartney had written suggesting his music be included on the show, which features a bunch of misfits in a high school choir.

"I received some fantastic mixed tapes from Paul McCartney a couple of weeks ago. I thought I was being punked!," Murphy said.

"It came out of blue in a package, handwritten, and it had two CDs and it said 'Hi Ryan, I hope you will consider some of these songs for 'Glee' ... I had heard that he is a fan of the show. I was gob-smacked ... so of course we are going to do something with him," Murphy said, without elaborating.

"Glee" has been nominated for 19 Emmys in its first season on television. The Fox show has been sold widely overseas and has spawned more than three hit albums of cover versions of pop, Broadway jazz and rap songs.

One of the episodes in the new season will be filled with the music of Britney Spears, following the success last season of Madonna and Lady Gaga-themed episodes.

Murphy said the cast and crew were studying Spears' music videos, her public appearances and album covers to familiarize themselves with her iconic looks.
From Britney/Brittnay, Britain!

From Reuters:

There will be just one other episode next season dedicated to a single artist -- a tribute in February to what Murphy called "a musical artist that we are in negotiation for." He did not elaborate but the artist is widely thought to be the late Michael Jackson.

Murphy said that season 2 would see more focus on characters, particularly those of minor players such as ditzy cheerleader Brittany, Asian student Tina and the father of gay teen Kurt.

'We are scaling back a little bit (on music) and concentrating on the stories and doing just five or six songs per episode," he said.

The new season of "Glee" starts on the Fox network on September 21.

Britney Episode "Will" Include Head Shaving

From JustJared at buzznet.com:

Matthew Morrison, aka Mr. Schuester, will shave his head for the upcoming Britney Spears-themed episode of Glee, sources reveal exclusively to JustJared.com.

“The recreating of Brit shaving her head is going to be epic!” our source adds.

On Monday, Glee creator Ryan Murphy did admit during the TCA press tour, “We’re paying tribute to her in a sort of fun and unexpected way.” And having Schue shave his head like Britney is the perfect way to do it!

“I like Britney,” Matt told E! recently.”I got in trouble earlier for comments I made saying I’m anti-Britney, but I’m not. I think in this episode, they’re going to mirror those comments and I’m going to be very anti-Britney in the episode because I don’t like what she represents. … It’s gonna be a lot of fun and some crazy stuff is gonna happen.” So exciting!

*** UPDATE ***
From Gleetastic.com/JustJared

But lest you think that Matthew will actually shave his trademark locks, Life & Style reports that a casting call has gone out for a double for Schuester that “must be willing to shave your head on camera.” Can you imagine what Sue will say?

Television Critics Brace for Time Warp

From Jeanne Jakle of Jakle's Jacuzzi on mysanantonio.com:

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Hankering for a little "Horror" with your "Glee"? Then, go ahead and celebrate - maybe with a little "Time Warp."

At the annual Television Critics Association awards here, "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy said look for a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" episode five installments in when the show returns for its second season this fall.

He was mum on most details, except to indicate that Sue Sylvester wouldn't be happy about the school's glee club taking on such an edgy and irreverent musical. (She'd probably call it something like demented filth).

What a pity, as I could so see her donning fishnets and corset and doing a turn as that "sweet transvestite," Frankenfurter.

Murphy himself had plenty to clink a champagne glass over Saturday night. The nation's critics bestowed not one, not two, but three awards on his Fox musical comedy show. The piece de resistance was the final award: Program of the Year. That's when the stunning young cast of his show - minus the two with S.A. connections, Mark Salling and Dianna Agron (darn it). Lea Michele looked especially radiant and glamorous, sporting a shorter, shoulder-skimming 'do and an even slimmer and more toned figure.

The event certainly was star-studded with Bryan Cranston and others from "Breaking Bad" (best drama) also in attendance, along with two cast members from "M*A*S*H" - Mike Farrell (B.J. Hunnicut) and William Christopher (Father Mulcahy), who took the stage to help collect the Heritage Award.

Dax Shepard of "Parenthood", who stood out comically in a tomato red sui, was funny and clever as host of this year's ceremony. His biggest plus may have been his date, hoewver: the dazzling Kristen Bell, who, by the way, is the daughter of WOAI-TV's Tom Bell.

My favorite encounter was with Tom Hanks, a TCA awards darling, who picked up the plaque this time for his powerful World War II miniseries, "The Pacific."

Hanks, looking handsome in suit and tie, gave us a huge laugh with his grumbling over the casual attire worn by Murphy and the "Yo Gabba Gabba" winners (Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming).
"This is the last time I'm (bleeping) dressing up for you," he bellowed as he collected his award.

At the reception afterward, the amiable Hanks was refreshingly attentive to every critic - including yours truly - who walked up to chat. Whether the topic was his latest success with "The Pacific" or his lighter movies, such as "Splash" or "Bachelor Party," Hanks exhibited that rare talent of making everyone feel that he or she is the most important person in the room.

Here's a list of this year's TCA winners:

• PROGRAM OF THE YEAR: "Glee" (FOX)
• OUTSTANDING NEW PROGRAM: "Glee" (FOX)
• INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN COMEDY: Jane Lynch, "Glee" (FOX)

• OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN COMEDY: "Modern Family" (ABC)
• OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN DRAMA: TIE - "Lost" (ABC) and "Breaking
Bad" (AMC)
• INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN DRAMA: Julianna Margulies, "The Good Wife"
(CBS)
• OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN NEWS & INFORMATION: "Life"
(Discovery)
• OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN YOUTH PROGRAMMING: "Yo Gabba
Gabba" (NICK JR.)
• OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN MOVIES, MINISERIES & SPECIALS: "The
Pacific" (HBO)
• HERITAGE AWARD: "M*A*S*H*" (CBS)
• CAREER ACHIEVEMENT: James Garner
